fuzzysporkIn my marathon 15+ hour play session last week I managed to actually get Edna to adulthood (SPOILER: she didn't die!). So here is the entirety of her teen days in 70-ish pictures. If you missed part 2.3 that I posted last night, go see that first! Otherwise most of this won't make any sense. Actually, most of this might not make any sense anyway. :P
Just so you know, this was traumatic. D: To demonstrate my general state of mind through all those hours of getting my heir safely from toddler to adulthood, here's Barney and Dinky...

Perfectly synchronized. I give them a 9.5 only because their costumes don't match. The Russian judge gave them a 5.2...
Anyway, last time we were here Bodean went on to the Afterlife and left behind a huge chunk of cash for the family. I ended up building them a real vacation lot over in Three Lakes...
It used every last penny he left for them, and THEN I realized they can't even afford to fly there for a visit! DOH. Well, I guess next generation can enjoy it.
The kids who are still in the house right now are Barney, Dinky, and Edna. Oh and...
Critter. But today is his last day as a teen. So he celebrates by skipping school. e__e He was up most of the night being terrorized by ghost dogs and was about to starve to death, but I figured he'd just eat at school. However, his stomach stomped out the "go to school" action in favor of the instant meal that was sitting on the counter.
That little dog Sparkplug is the 1200 simoleon a-hole who beats up on the other two dogs. There is CONSTANTLY a dog fight going on so I usually just ignore them, but I wanted to show that the little punk manages to beat up the bigger dogs every time.
After taking this picture I un-paused the game and heard swirling hearts music... oh god...
OH GOD. Critter decided to jump on the opportunity to get his first kiss from Nikki. D:
Oh but it gets worse...
Nikki raised him for CRIPES SAKE. He's her children's half brother!
OH but it gets WORSE...
I'm sorry Barney...
You can see it in Barney's eyes right there. THIS is the exact moment when his brain actually broke.
"Hey bro! Congrats on losing your virginity to Mom today!"
"Hey Mom, great job 'hooing my brother on the couch just as we got home from school!"
GAH, six o'clock did not come fast enough for me!
Just one more thing to do...
And now he can move out!
Seriously though, I think this might require years of therapist appointments. D:
Anyway, life marches on and more first kisses were autonomously had. Here's Barney and First Kiss Jules. For some reason I thought he'd gotten his from her before Dinky did in the last update, but I guess Barney was the last one. At any rate, that's all three clone brothers getting this from Jules. I'd say she's a tramp, but then I realize maybe she can't tell them apart and thinks they are all the same guy.
No sooner had this ended when I heard those freakin swirly hearts again!
OH GOD. That's another frequent school bus friend, named Eric Seavey. He's been around enough that most of them know him pretty well. Though by the looks of it, it's Nikki he wants to know better. This ended and then IMMEDIATELY more swirling hearts!
Edna swoops in to get her first kiss from Eric. I hope he at least wiped his mouth first! D: She scored a platinum plumbbob from it anyway...
But this being THIS household and seeing there's two bolts between Edna and Eric, I knew exactly where this was going next.
Nikki, no. Just... HELL NO.
I was scared to death this was going to result in a lullaby on Edna's first day as a teen! But thank goodness the odds were in my favor this time...
Eric seemed to switch his hormonal attention to Edna and away from Nikki at this point. Thank goodness! Though Nikki stalked him every time he was on the lot after that kiss.
Gawd.
Hey look, Spot grew up and actually has spots!
Then Rosco died. Yeah, I know you all don't know any of the dogs because I just ignore them until they get on my nerves. But I just want to say that since Sparkplug (the wee bully) and Spot were on good terms, they are now expecting a puppy. Maybe that's the last time I'll have to do that until the end of the challenge!
I downloaded this hot tub back when I first started this challenge and I have no idea why I never bought it for them before! Maybe because it only costs one simoleon and I felt that was a bit "cheaty". Though considering it's made of scraps, I guess it's okay.
Dinky is the only one who isn't interested in using it. I thought he was freaked out by the dress conversation....
But it turns out the water is infested with ghost dogs. D:
Finally it's Barney's last day! That's him in the middle in case you can't tell them apart by now. :P
He was scrubbing the counter top at 6 o'clock.
No point breaking a family tradition now. :P
He promptly moved out, and that leaves (mercifully!) only two teens in the house.
Edna and Dinky. They are actually very close.
Someone else Edna is rather close to now... Eric continued to get off the school bus nearly every day and I continued to have a minor stroke every time Edna "tried for baby".
"Jeez Edna, again? Can't we just talk or something?"
She tried a lot.
I was looking for pictures of the puppies that Sparkplug had (there's two of them) but this is the only one they are in. If you lean in and squint you can see those two black specks near the blue food dish. A boy named Jack Daniels and a girl named Tequila.
It was probably 2 or 3 in the morning at this point and I must have really needed a drink. D:
Okay, at this point I realized Nikki was not going to live long enough to see Edna to adulthood. Dinky was due to grow up and move out the next night and when Nikki dies in a few days that will leave Edna all alone.
A teenager I can't control - ALONE. My HEIR. ALONE with me watching helplessly! So you can see I why I might have been panicking a little at this point.
But looking at Edna's want panel I realized something. Then a plan was hatched!
The Plan: I'll have Nikki invite Eric over before Dinky ages up. Dinky is friends with Eric, so I'll get the chance to age him up with Dinky. Then in a couple of days when it's time for Nikki to die, she can invite Adult Eric to move in. Then he'll be the controllable adult in the house until Edna finally grows up and they can get married.
It was a BRILLIANT PLAN!
It WAS a brilliant plan. But my unfortunate style of "hands off" playing ruined it for me....
As did Nikki.... oh god...
So now Edna is absolutely furious (and hating) both Eric and her mom. And for good damned reason!
Dinky is ALSO furious with Nikki and Eric! He was waiting patiently for Eric to finish eating so he could kick his ass...
When 6 PM rolled around.
At this point I was left with a dilemma. My plan to use Eric is now ruined because Edna doesn't even want to look at him.
I think it was about 4 o'clock in the morning while I was playing through all of this and I was just simply unable to think past Plan A...
So I aged Eric up. Maybe there's enough time between now and Edna growing up to get him back into her good graces...
In the meantime Adult Dinky, who is still quite angry with his mom, comes around every day to relieve them of their paper.
And he sneaks onto the lot every night to relieve them of a few gnomes.
Edna went to retrieve one, then she must have realized it was a losing battle because she stopped after that one.
Edna at least managed to take care of herself pretty well. But too often I had to make Nikki call her to a meal, especially since there are so many obnoxious ghost dogs roaming the lot at night. So I'm not convinced Edna would survive on her own for more than a couple of days...
Especially since she's a bit preoccupied with her low Aspiration to want to do more than jump on the couch.
Nikki's not exactly feeling too great herself. D: But if she would just roll some wants that are doable! Edna getting into private school and becoming an over achiever just ain't gonna happen!
At least Bodean is around to make her feel better. e__e
Finally Edna stopped being mad at her mom and they were able to be friends again. Tomorrow is Nikki's last day and Edna still has half a week left before she's an adult! So I've got to make an executive decision now...
I decided against making Edna try to survive on her own, so I had Nikki invite Eric over then invite him to move in a few hours before she was due to die (er, yes, that's her funeral outfit). Edna is still a little mad at him, but their friendship points have managed to creep back into range.
Oh, and Eric was freakin LOADED. He's also a Knowledge sim who is working in the Criminal career as a smuggler. He's going to quit his job as soon as I can get him to a phone though.
First I made him apologize to Edna 20 or 30 times in a row.
(At this point I also had to keep Nikki busy filling in holes and cleaning dog beds because she kept popping up a "relax" in her queue and that was NOT gonna happen this time! So this was a lot more clicking than I normally like!)
(Yeah, that's Dinky coming onto the lot to steal something.)
After he quit his job I had Eric change his hair because I really don't like that other style. He also got some glasses because that's one of Edna's turn-ons and I'm hoping it helps her opinion of him.
Yeah, she approves.
You know, in a "normal" challenge or legacy Eric would be the last guy I let my heir marry! Only because of that whole "sleeping with mom" thing. But this is THIS challenge. :P

Unfortunately I couldn't do anything about Nikki's mood before this happened. At least there was one person there dressed as a hula girl...
Nikki left about 5500 simoleons to Edna and Eric. Now I've just got to keep Edna alive for 3 more days and hope like heck she doesn't manage to get pregnant before then!
So Eric will be spending his days asleep and his nights at the telescope just so he's "busy" with other stuff.
OH, Eric came with an inventory full of rocks and bones he'd purchased from past yard sales here. e___e He also had this fish tank, which is the item I decided to let them use, and a few other things that will get sold at the yard sale in a couple of days...
Edna's got just 24 hours left as a teen so I figured I'd better make this official since Eric is living here now.
This actually made her fall in love with him again, so I guess things are patched up for good... or, you know, for NOW anyway.
I'm still having to force actions into Eric's queue to keep them out of the darned hot tub (and the bed, and the couch, etc). I realized Edna had the want to fish so he invited her to join. She's still not quite back into the green though.
While these two are distracted, I've got Eric's 15,000 simoleons to spend!
So they got another truck, another junker, and the second trailer gets to be a double wide now.
I connected the porches of the two trailers into one deck. And inside the new addition....
Is a bowling lane! Edna is now in the gold because she had the want for a game costing at least 3500 simoleons. That should keep her happy for the next 24 hours, because tomorrow is her birthday.
It's also a couple of days into summer so Eric is running the yard sale while Edna is at school.
This is the stuff he had in his inventory! The sale was a success and everything but the toddler potty sold.
No one ever wants to buy the potty.
THIS IS IT... OMG it was such a long and horrifying adventure to get her to this point!
But I'm afraid that outfit isn't going to cut it. Now that I can give her a command, she's off to Walmart for some Edna clothes...

With all the drama/scandal up until this point, this intermission made me laugh/cry much harder than it probably should.
I think it's ACR 2.0 that has birth control and a friend-zone, for which I am so grateful. Just, wow, Nikki!
One of the things I learned while playing this challenge is that an adult with a car can choose to drive kids to school, while the bus is still on the lot. I'm militant about keeping up good grades, lol.

I think in the first generation I was having an adult "help" the teens with their homework, but then I kinda gave up at some point. I never understood why Maxis didn't program things so that maybe the more serious Sims would at least autonomously do their homework every once in a while! :P
