Pic Spam! (and feeble excuses)
First off: I was laid up all last week due to a mystery illness / allergy / nano-aliens wrecking havoc on my immune system. That's why I've not been seen around here for a while. I think I managed to post to Twitter a few times in my fever-induced delirium, but anything even remotely cognitive wasn't happening. Which is why I didn't get CRAP done towards my CreMo goals. I've come to accept the fact that I'm just not going to win it this time around, but I'm still plugging away at it anyway!
Since I don't have anything to show for this "legacy" I keep saying I'm doing, and I swear it's not a myth! Here's some random picspam from the legacy house...
------------------------------------------------

Here is what the house looks like now. Still not exactly "palace" specs, and they probably have enough money for a major expansion at this point, but with THAT many people in the household I'm reluctant to make the house any bigger for fear of lagging. It's not bad right now so I'll just deal with boring landscape and minimal furnishings...

Because just keeping track of all the kids is keeping me plenty occupied. I don't have time to worry about esthetics!
The 6 PM spam just goes on forever. I think after I unpaused here I got at least 2 Social Worker warnings as well. Some of those homework stacks are approaching monument status. Thank goodness it's the weekend. D:

Anyway, here's the actual layout at the moment. I'm trying to keep it as authentic as possible, while still trying to give the sims everything they need. There's a refrigerator and stove inside right now, but that will change once I get the kitchen courtyard added. There's also a basement that contains all the Aspiration Fodder I have to buy and the career rewards. OH, speaking of career...

King Narmer did reach the top of his career (Criminal Mastermind) to fulfill his Lifetime Want. Unfortunately I had to make him quit right away because I needed every hand on deck for raising these kids! At one point Namer's sister even temporarily moved in to help out (since she was the one unmarried female in the 'hood who would not "try for baby" with him).

That is the reason there are TEN kids in the household. I decided to let them (and ACR) dictate how many kids they each wanted to have. I really didn't think that one through thoroughly enough. e__e
And when I say "they" I mean the three wives. Yes, three...

Esi is the Great Royal Wife (the queen) and she's boss of the household. The other two are lesser wives (political arrangements) and will appear in the story as such. Between the three of them, they managed to autonomously bring ten kids into the household. And I've learned a great lesson: don't let all the wives live in the same house at the same time! I'm going to have to work out some kind of compromise next generation, because raising all these kids has been my biggest challenge yet.
Speaking of the kids! Here they are, in order of birth. I was going to say who is the offspring of which mother, but maybe it will be more fun to let you all guess that. Hah...

Nofret and Raneb are twins.

Despite Raneb being the first boy born, he is not the heir since he was not born to the Great Wife.

This is a girl, too. If you are keeping count, that's 8 girls and only one boy so far. And still no heir. BUT...

FINALLY, the tenth child is the Great Royal Wife's first son! I was sweating that one. D:
Khufu is heir, so you'll be seeing plenty of him when it's time for this generation to be showcased in the story. Don't worry about remembering who any of the other kids are, because only one or two of them will have parts to play later.
(By the way, the clothes and hair you see will likely NOT be what you see them wearing in the story. I'm still making CC!)
(Also, nine out of ten of those kids got 8 neat points. Hm.)
Now for a bunch of random pictures I pulled out of the storytelling folder...

That's Narmer's sister in the background helping with the homework.

Esi is working on her LTW now. :D
That's it that for now! More from Egypt coming soon. Hopefully. :P
------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: I keep forgetting about this, but I've had a Tumblr account for a few months now, I've just never figured out what to DO with it. I decided to use it for random Egyptian stuff I feel like posting but don't want to put here, and pics from my legacy. Not that I'll be posting to it every day, I just wanted to alert the Tumblr masses to it's existence.

I don't know if you've seen this fridge over at MTS (http://modthesims.info/d/289069) but I'm just putting it out there as a substitute for the modern fridges you've got (it may not fit perfectly with the style, but may fit better!)

I saw that fridge ages ago, so thanks for reminding me it exists! I'll probably try it out just to see if it will work in any application I might need it for. :)

Great to see some picspam. :) Hope you feel better soon Fuzzy

Edited to add: I don't know if you've seen these yet: http://www.theninthwavesims.com/2012/03/sims-2-world-adventures-earrings-for.html
The texture doesn't look that great on them, but I'm not sure if that's the graphics card or not. If not, you might be able to spruce them up a bit.

Oh, thanks for the link! I've not seen those. YAY! I do need jewelry, since both men and women wore it (lots of it) and earrings especially.

Get well soon!

Thanks Leonard. :)

I have a policy that kids do homework as soon as they are home from school if their mood is good enough. If not, they do mood boosting stuff and then do homework. But that way I at least remember to do it.
Wow on so many girls! At least you have an heir, and all the kids are lovely!
Can't wait to see the rest of it!

Right now, the town population ratio of boys to girls is something like 1 to 5. Even Narmer's sister had girls! I'm gonna have to find a LOT more male imports. Heh. As it is now, I'm thinking I need to send some of them into the Townie pool or be faced with spending weeks at a time just on spare house rotations - and it's only the second generation. :P

Well, uh, you could do literal sister wives? But have each of them only have one kid? And at least this is leaving you the female simselves for the pharaohs?

The outfits are looking good and I will keep my eyes open.
*hugs*

Thanks. Still alive and nearly back to normal, I think. :)

I won't be ready to download more simselves until next week or so, but I'll make sure to grab yours! :)
