Pic Spam! (and feeble excuses)

First off: I was laid up all last week due to a mystery illness / allergy / nano-aliens wrecking havoc on my immune system.  That's why I've not been seen around here for a while.  I think I managed to post to Twitter a few times in my fever-induced delirium, but anything even remotely cognitive wasn't happening.  Which is why I didn't get CRAP done towards my CreMo goals.  I've come to accept the fact that I'm just not going to win it this time around, but I'm still plugging away at it anyway!

Since I don't have anything to show for this "legacy" I keep saying I'm doing, and I swear it's not a myth!  Here's some random picspam from the legacy house...

------------------------------------------------

Here is what the house looks like now.  Still not exactly "palace" specs, and they probably have enough money for a major expansion at this point, but with THAT many people in the household I'm reluctant to make the house any bigger for fear of lagging.  It's not bad right now so I'll just deal with boring landscape and minimal furnishings...

Because just keeping track of all the kids is keeping me plenty occupied.  I don't have time to worry about esthetics!

The 6 PM spam just goes on forever.  I think after I unpaused here I got at least 2 Social Worker warnings as well.  Some of those homework stacks are approaching monument status.  Thank goodness it's the weekend.  D:

Anyway, here's the actual layout at the moment.  I'm trying to keep it as authentic as possible, while still trying to give the sims everything they need.  There's a refrigerator and stove inside right now, but that will change once I get the kitchen courtyard added.  There's also a basement that contains all the Aspiration Fodder I have to buy and the career rewards.  OH, speaking of career...

King Narmer did reach the top of his career (Criminal Mastermind) to fulfill his Lifetime Want.  Unfortunately I had to make him quit right away because I needed every hand on deck for raising these kids!  At one point Namer's sister even temporarily moved in to help out (since she was the one unmarried female in the 'hood who would not "try for baby" with him).

That is the reason there are TEN kids in the household.  I decided to let them (and ACR) dictate how many kids they each wanted to have.  I really didn't think that one through thoroughly enough.  e__e

And when I say "they" I mean the three wives.  Yes, three...

Esi is the Great Royal Wife (the queen) and she's boss of the household.  The other two are lesser wives (political arrangements) and will appear in the story as such.  Between the three of them, they managed to autonomously bring ten kids into the household.  And I've learned a great lesson: don't let all the wives live in the same house at the same time!  I'm going to have to work out some kind of compromise next generation, because raising all these kids has been my biggest challenge yet.

Speaking of the kids!  Here they are, in order of birth.  I was going to say who is the offspring of which mother, but maybe it will be more fun to let you all guess that.  Hah...

Nofret and Raneb are twins.

Despite Raneb being the first boy born, he is not the heir since he was not born to the Great Wife.

This is a girl, too.  If you are keeping count, that's 8 girls and only one boy so far.  And still no heir.  BUT...

FINALLY, the tenth child is the Great Royal Wife's first son!   I was sweating that one.  D:

Khufu is heir, so you'll be seeing plenty of him when it's time for this generation to be showcased in the story.  Don't worry about remembering who any of the other kids are, because only one or two of them will have parts to play later.

(By the way, the clothes and hair you see will likely NOT be what you see them wearing in the story.  I'm still making CC!)

(Also, nine out of ten of those kids got 8 neat points.  Hm.)

Now for a bunch of random pictures I pulled out of the storytelling folder...

That's Narmer's sister in the background helping with the homework.

Esi is working on her LTW now.  :D

That's it that for now!   More from Egypt coming soon.  Hopefully.  :P

------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:  I keep forgetting about this, but I've had a Tumblr account for a few months now, I've just never figured out what to DO with it.  I decided to use it for random Egyptian stuff I feel like posting but don't want to put here, and pics from my legacy.  Not that I'll be posting to it every day, I just wanted to alert the Tumblr masses to it's existence.

Wow, the amount of effort that must have gone in to planning this is unbelievable... but it all looks so good!

I don't know if you've seen this fridge over at MTS (http://modthesims.info/d/289069) but I'm just putting it out there as a substitute for the modern fridges you've got (it may not fit perfectly with the style, but may fit better!)

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
The real effort is going to come in staging it all. D; Thanks though! :D

I saw that fridge ages ago, so thanks for reminding me it exists! I'll probably try it out just to see if it will work in any application I might need it for. :)

Oh my gosh, you have exactly as many sims + cat as I do in my OWBC house, except two of my sims are servos and I can tell them to power down. Shame kids didn't come with an off button hey.

Great to see some picspam. :) Hope you feel better soon Fuzzy

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I love a big family, but more than 10 in the house is just a few sims too many. >_< It was starting to feel like a toddler challenge at one point! Putting another adult in the house helped a little, but I was getting SoWo warnings every two seconds anyway. I had to make sure I had a couple of them able to beg the social worker. D: The last two toddlers are scheduled to grow up when I open the game again. WHEW. Now I just have to worry about the kids jumping on beds and into heat stroke. *rolleyes*

The pictures look awesome -- looking forward to the actual product! :)

Feel better soon!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah me too. :P Getting there slooowwwllyyy.

Thanks Esme. :)

[identity profile] penguingirl03.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Holy cow that's a lot of sims in one house! Bravo for keeping up with them! I can't wait to see what happens to them all. :)

Sorry to hear that you've been sick. Glad you are feeling better though!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, yeah... "keeping up with them" XD I've never gotten so may SoWo warnings in my life. I really hate micromanaging so the sooner they are all grown the better!

Thanks Pen. Getting better!

[identity profile] holleyb76.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I seriously don't know why some of you guys make things so hard on yourselves. So...Many...Kids!!!
I am looking forward to this so much Fuzzy!
I am glad you are feeling better too.

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize I was making it hard on myself until there were 10 kids in the house. lol... I'll know better next time. e__e

Thanks! Getting better finally.

[identity profile] katmiesterk8.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Hope you feel better soon Fuzzy!

That is a lot of sims for one household!

Those pics look real good. :)

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Too many sims, really. I think I'll manage that better next time. Heh.
Thanks. :)

[identity profile] animeangel1983.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Too many kidlets!! But hey, gotta love the larger household hack huh? Most I've had on a lot was 16 (no pets though) and that was troublesome enough. My computer doesn't usually lag but it did then, like a ten tonne truck. Can't wait to see Chapter 1!!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I love being able to have more than 8 sims in the house, but it was just WAY too many kids at one time! lol

[identity profile] katee412.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
And now I'm even more excited for this!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! I just need to get the durn thang DONE. D:

[identity profile] lauriempress.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ten, Pshaw, I think one house I play is at 25? Of course I can cheat there. ;) Keep having fun!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, yeah, being able to cheat would be awesome. >_< Actually, I went so long playing by OWBC rules I even forget now that I'm allowed to use all the career and aspiration objects again! Especially the mood boosters. YAY! I think someone needs to get a gold florist badge, pronto.

[identity profile] lauriempress.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I just counted and I have 12 in the house I can't cheat in. I know your pain!

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello family! They're all lovely, even if they have been making you tear your hair out. I'm still really sorry that Esi made you wait so long for an heir. D: You'd think she'd know better given where she's from.

Edited to add: I don't know if you've seen these yet: http://www.theninthwavesims.com/2012/03/sims-2-world-adventures-earrings-for.html

The texture doesn't look that great on them, but I'm not sure if that's the graphics card or not. If not, you might be able to spruce them up a bit.

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Esi's kids are Merit (1), Kesi (5), and of course Khufu. lol Don't worry about it taking so long for Khufu to come along. It's actually going to work out great with the plot(s) that I have for Esi and later for him and his older half-brother. :)

Oh, thanks for the link! I've not seen those. YAY! I do need jewelry, since both men and women wore it (lots of it) and earrings especially.

[identity profile] biglenny.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow! That's a lot of sims you have in the household! At least all of the kids have nice appearances, and I'm glad Esi finally has a boy. Congrats on that!

Get well soon!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pleased will all the kids! Even if there are just a few too many of them. Heh.

Thanks Leonard. :)

[identity profile] rosefyre.livejournal.com 2012-03-26 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Mystery illness = totally valid excuse. If you are in the hospital, you get a free pass.

I have a policy that kids do homework as soon as they are home from school if their mood is good enough. If not, they do mood boosting stuff and then do homework. But that way I at least remember to do it.

Wow on so many girls! At least you have an heir, and all the kids are lovely!

Can't wait to see the rest of it!

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Fortunately it was just ONE day in the hospital, but that was due mostly to having to wait. So much waiting. e__e

Right now, the town population ratio of boys to girls is something like 1 to 5. Even Narmer's sister had girls! I'm gonna have to find a LOT more male imports. Heh. As it is now, I'm thinking I need to send some of them into the Townie pool or be faced with spending weeks at a time just on spare house rotations - and it's only the second generation. :P

[identity profile] rosefyre.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Ew on having to wait.

Well, uh, you could do literal sister wives? But have each of them only have one kid? And at least this is leaving you the female simselves for the pharaohs?

[identity profile] leilia.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay I am glad you aren't dead. And the kidlets are cute. I think I've pegged Zahra's kids. The twins of course, Nefru and Nafre - I think.

The outfits are looking good and I will keep my eyes open.

*hugs*

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-03-27 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right! Nefru and Nafre are Zahra's. I'm also dressing all the girls in a "uniform" based on who their mother is. >_> It's just easier to keep track that way. Not to mention there's only a total of 3 girl outfits anyway! *headdesk* I'll get more eventually. The first few generations are just gonna be kinda boring in the fashion sense. Heh.

Thanks. Still alive and nearly back to normal, I think. :)

[identity profile] mrcfreaks54.livejournal.com 2012-05-31 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Awww, these kiddos are so adorable :3 Lolol, but daaaamn >o> 10??? Man , in my sims game i can barely handle 3 (Maybe because My sims are in the closet Romance sims or something) ! Lol, I am really looking forward to this and If my simself ends up in this i shall be so happy xD

[identity profile] fuzzy-spork.livejournal.com 2012-05-31 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, 10 is a bit much! o__o I'm going to have to change the way I do this for the second generation. I love all the kids though!

I won't be ready to download more simselves until next week or so, but I'll make sure to grab yours! :)

[identity profile] mrcfreaks54.livejournal.com 2012-05-31 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Sweet, I am looking forward to seeing me Egyptian-ized xD Lol, I am just way over the edge curious on what I'll look like and what not ^^;
