Note: For those who don't know, Quark is my Black Sheep: alien-witch-plantsim-vampire-werewolf-zombie.

“And I hear she’s got scales, too!” Orlando Bertino was whispering to Chandler Platz from behind a hedge in front of one particular house on Spring Street.
Chandler’s eyes grew wider, “Does she really glow in the dark, too?”
“Hell yeah!” Orlando dared a peek over the top of the hedge, “Well, that’s what my dad says. I want to see it though.”
“That’s why we’re here, right?” Chandler copied Orlando by peeking over the top of the hedge.
The two boys stared up at the house through the growing darkness. It was like any other house on the block, really. Nothing about it seemed unusual with its well-kept yard, a picket fence around the back garden, some fruit trees, and lights shining through lace curtains in all the windows.
Further down the block a street light buzzed to life.
“I hope she comes out soon,” Chandler whispered, glancing at the darkening sky, “My mom’s gonna kill me if I’m late for din-.”
“SHH!” Orlando cut him off, “Oh my god, I think it’s her.”
They held their breath and watched as an adult female form walked out the front door. At first she was silhouetted against the bright light coming from the entryway, but as she came further onto the porch they could see her quite well. She was green all right, but where was the wolf fur? Or the glowing halo? Or the leaves for hair?
Chandler leaned near Orlando, not taking his eyes off the woman, “Is that-“
“And what do you think you’re doing, BOYS?” The voice came from behind.
Orlando and Chandler spun around and both of them nearly fell backwards through the hedge. Standing only a few feet away was a woman - no, not a woman- a woman-shaped monster! with huge golden wolf eyes, green-tinged fur covering her face and arms, leaves all over her head, and there was a glowing light that looked like green fire all around her.
The monster-woman exposed her fangs in a way that was similar to a smile, “Would you boys like to come in for a BITE?” She chomped her teeth together to emphasize the word.
Orlando was the first one to bolt, while Chandler swayed in place and seemed to be on the verge of puking when he finally snapped to his senses and followed quickly in Orlando’s footsteps.
“Really mother,” the green woman on the porch put her hands on her hips, “Did you have to scare them half to death?”
Quark chuckled, “I have to keep up appearances, Moonseed. And the short one peed his pants. That’s worth the trip to the afterlife and back right there.” Then she tilted her head back and howled. Moonseed merely rolled her eyes and went back inside.
