Oh crap! Not a crash! I hope you saved? Eeeeeep, and it didn't even help! I think the game doesn't like saving with scenarios in progress, and adopting a child counts as a scenario. (So does adopting a pet, I think. I know that having someone in the "pledge" period at a Greek house does, because I had to revert to backup after making *that* mistake.)
Of course Aberjack is turned off by someone with lots of cleaning points! If they're neat too, there's way less for her to clean, and that's a bad thing.
Well, at least the adoption worked eventually. Maybe the scenario clock started over or something?
The aliens like 'em cute and dumb, huh? ;P The game knows when you want alien abductions and doesn't give you any, but unfortunately it also knows when you don't want them and delights in supplying them.
