Jobs can be sought in the paper and with the Humble computer if your sim has it (I know some people have a hack to prevent it being delivered).
Since you have so many freakin hacks, Jo! I'm going to say do what you think is best in keeping with the rules is you didn't have them in your game. XD
You can't ever sell anything in buy mode (only date roses). Sims can hunt, collect, and salvage all day, but anything they find can only be sold at that annual yard sale. Priced at the lowest price. I don't know if bin diving gives them random cash or not (I never have sims that do it!) but if they actually find MONEY in the bin, that's fine.
