Okay... Gah, what's wrong with me? I can't pass up a challenge where Sim genetics are involved! D: I spotted that Good Genes challenge over at GOS and couldn't resist playing it. I mean it's ONLY 3 generations. >_>
SO, three days later I finished it. I guess I should have made better use of aging cheats to speed up the process, but I was also play-testing some residential lots I built for the Egyptian legacy, so it served a dual purpose. Blah-blah, long story short, I have my results. As evidenced by the 25 or so photos under the cut (I wasn't doing this as a photo shoot... so expect regular crappy pics from the regular game-play).
--------------------------------------------------------
The Challenge: I have to take THIS...

And in 3 generations, breed out all evidence of... well, THAT.
That's Zhulh. He has to breed with one Maxis premade sim and produce 3 offspring. One of which will go on to produce the next generation, and so on. At least one of Zhulh's great-grandkids has to look completely "normal" without any trace of Zhulh left.
I plopped him down in a neighborhood where I had moved all the bin sims into houses for the purpose of testing the houses (and the desert terrain, and the no-weather hack, and various other things I'll need to use later). Since it was all bin sims, I decided it would be all bin sims who were used in this challenge. Luckily Zhulh's welcome wagon consisted of the Travelers, and through them he was able to meet everyone else. Now to decide who he should mate with.

Zhulh seems to be under the impression that Earth girls are easy. e___e
Those three faces are all teen girls: Tina Traveler, Gabriella Newsom, and Ginger Newsom. Since he seemed to be so freakin keen on those particular girls, I picked one of them.

I went with Tina because of her recessives and the fact I didn't want to marry into the Newsom clan so soon when there are precious few single sims in the neighborhood and I don't want this family related to the largest household yet. That way Zhulh's kids and/or grandkids have someone to marry. (In the end this was unnecessary because none of the Newsoms were married in.) ANYWAY.

Tina went and threw me natural twins right out of the gate. I didn't even have that perk picked! This must just be something Family sims do anyway, whether you use that perk or not. Gah. But it's just as well she had two right away...

Because the second pregnancy almost killed her, so it's a good thing she didn't have to go through a third. The twins were a boy and a girl I named Alpha and Beta...

That's Alpha on the right and Beta on the left. It's pointless to show their little brother Gamma, because he looks very much like Alpha.
So now I have to pick one of these two to breed the next generation with. Gah. It was not an easy decision! I had to figure out what might be easier to breed out: Alpha's whole lower face, or Beta's bulbous forehead! In the end I went with Beta and her sperm-whale-head...

In retrospect, I probably should have used one of her brothers! Both of them already have a normal forehead, and Gamma got a normal'ish jaw.

Because that forehead! Well, you'll see. Anyway, it turns out Pop Sim Beta has 2 bolts with Julien Cooke.

So of course I have NO idea what this is about! o_O
She didn't dwell on the bad memory of getting engaged very long. In fact it took all of two seconds after I unpaused at this point for them to go hop in the photobooth.
And of course I forgot about having ACR turned to allow unmarried "Try for Baby"...

But it saved me a couple of clicks. I just wasn't ready for Beta to move out yet, because I was trying to get all her parents' friends onto her friend panel for job promotions later.

She did eventually make it over to Julien's house. Um, I have no idea why she thinks he's rich. He had less than 20,000 in the bank at this point! Of course she moved from a houe where the last bills were paid by selling their beds. So maybe it's all relative.
Anyway, Beta and Julien had three kids, as required...

All girls. (left to right) Delta, Epsilon, and Zeta.
Gah.
Another hard choice. Epsilon was out since both Delta and Zeta at least resembled humans. Sorta. Keep in mind that who I pick here has to produce me a normal "attractive" sim as their offpring! I decided to go with Zeta because all I have to get rid of is that forehead!

Again, in retrospct, I probably could have gotten decent results from Delta. But both she and Zeta have that freakin forehead and that brow that's nearly sitting on their chin, so maybe it didn't matter who I used...

Cyd: "Um. Wait. What was the question again? I think I misunderstood!"
Too late Cyd. You and Porthos better go pack your bags.

Cyd: "At least I can buy dog food now!"
Zeta is sporting the effects of having the 'hood set to summer year round. By this generation I had sims fainting from heat stroke every other day. It got to the point of ridiculous. One of Cyd and Zeta's kids even got overheated from sitting quietly on the couch, watching sports on TV. How the hell is that possible?
Anyway, yes, the kids. Three of them. I was hopeful with their first, a boy...

Until he aged to teen. *sigh* Oh and keeping with the naming theme (did any of you figure out I'm using the Greek alphabet?) this one is named Eta.
Eta has two sisters, Theta and Kappa... Keep in mind this is the last generation! One of these kids have to be "normal" looking...

Theta is not what I would consider "normal" looking. *SIGH*
That leaves youngest sister Kappa. By default of being less wonky than these two, she's the winner. But before I show her, let's have a look at the whole family tree...

Suspense yet?

TA-DAA! When she became a teen and I saw all the wonky'ness smooth away, I nearly wept with relief.
Remember, her brother and sister look like this...

So I'm more than pleased at how Kappa turned out. I would call "stately beauty" maybe. There are still a few strange planes on her face, but for the most part she's lovely. And great fun as a Scorpio Fortune sim with only 2 nice points and zero love for either of her siblings. :D

Whew. Now back to building an ancient civilization...
BY THE WAY:

Sandy Bruty's looking pretty good right now, isn't she? ;D
